This year's Conversation in Black and White promises to be both thought-provoking and engaging. Join the Equity Project Alliance as we bring together two dynamic community leaders who share an unexpected connection: both were born in Little Rock, Arkansas—a fact they only recently discovered. That's the magic of conversation. When we take the time to talk with one another, unexpected connections and meaningful moments often emerge. Although they share the same birthplace, their journeys took different paths. Robin grew up and attended school in Arkansas, while David's family relocated to Florida during his childhood. When asked to reflect on the most significant social issue at the time they graduated from high school, Robin immediately recalled the ongoing fight for integration in public schools. David offered a strikingly similar response, remembering how racism continued to divide America. What makes their reflections especially compelling is that they graduated from high school nearly a decade apart, yet both identified race and racial inequality as defining issues of their time. Their shared perspective serves as a powerful reminder that the conversation about race in America has spanned generations—and that honest dialogue remains as important today as ever. Join us as Robin and David share their personal stories, insights, and experiences in what promises to be a meaningful and inspiring conversation. Virtue of Determination with Ciara and Chloe | Gina & Friends
From the Ground Up Community Garden was brimming with young people and their caregivers for a special evening last week in partnership with Valerie's House Northwest Florida. Valerie’s House provides structured, peer-based support for children, teens, and caregivers after the loss of a loved one— and what better place to find comfort, connection, and healing than the Community Garden? Our heartfelt thanks to the volunteers who made this meaningful gathering possible. A special shoutout to Fish Heads on Pensacola Beach at the Fairfield Inn on Pensacola Beach for generously providing a delicious meal for everyone! Thank You Kayla of Making Waves, Music Therapy for coming out to support the garden and Valerie’s House! Can’t wait to do it again! Music and Horticultural Therapy are great partners for healing.
